My day got derailed in a delightful way today. I got a txt from an Auckland friend visiting family up here, asking if I would like to meet up with her and her young lad. We went into town, had a walk around the shops, a cold drink at Cafe over the Bay (my fave cafe, you sit up above the road and look down onto the park and wharf), had a walk in the park, drove round to the beach and I got to sit in the sun while they went for a swim. Just lovely. This is the beach in question, Ti Beach (pronounced 'tea').

Yes, this is Easter weekend which means they are going to need me to help more often in the checkstand both Saturday and Sunday around doing my primary duties than usual.
On the other hand Sunday might not be that busy for me after all. The store actually closes at 3pm and the other managers will be coming in earlier than usual.

I had to pull the coolers off the top of the refrigerator before she figured out how to get off the cabinet onto the top of the refrigerator. Looks like the Dyson vacuum box fits nicely on top the refrigerator, and with the cooler on top of that, maybe it will be enough to prevent her getting back on top the kitchen cabinets. She's already tried to ... um no. That sure didn't work.
I have absolutely no idea how she just did it, but she is back on top the cabinets. Clearly, she's doing some type of crazy boomerang leaping to jump from the kitchen counter to the top of the kitchen cabinets.
