Well, I don't even eat breakfast, or lunch mostly, just dinner :) Today's was homemade hamburgers with avocado (did you just go "YUCK?!"), onions and vine ripened tomatoes. Nom.

Oh heck yeah I did just go "Yuck" and "PATOOEY!!" and "EWW!" But as long as you enjoy it, all power to you! :D

I don't always eat breakfast, and I pretty much ALWAYS skip "lunch"; I'm mainly a grazing type anyway. I usually nibble at a little something small every couple of hours or so. Unless I've been on a creating binge, and then I will forget to do things like eat and sleep.....LOL

Trout has been re-heated... and I have green salad, and a small bowl of pine nuts/sunflower seeds mixed together. Yes, I'm weird. No, I'm not ashamed of it. Yum. :D

Sounds yummy, not weird. It's probably over forty years since I had last had trout...I had a keen freshwater fisherman boyfriend when I lived in Taumaranui in the early 70's.

Oh hell yeah! Salmon is soooo good! I like to roast potatoes with rosemary and lay the salmon on the top when they're nearly ready and flash roast it. Yum, yum.

Oh, that sounds really good, Lorraine. :)

I'm especially partial to a GOOD smoked salmon. But I don't give away my recipe on that, ever. LOL!

I also will do a salmon bake with it from time to time, too. My Bear and my pup like it no matter how I prep it, but if I smoke it, my pup will draw blood for it... and if I do a salmon bake with it, my Bear will draw blood! It's quite funny to watch them at times.

And then there are the clam bakes... a true outdoor on the stones clam bake... I miss those. :D

The worst part about State governments is that you can lose rights when you move from one state to another. I'm not at all keen on state's rights simply because it creates inequalities. As a citizen of the United States, I should have the same rights regardless of where I live!

Until the Supreme Court ruled in 2015 that states cannot keep same-sex couples from marrying and must recognize their unions, which state you lived in determined whether you were legally married or not.

The 19th Amendment (1920) prohibited state or federal sex-based restrictions on voting. Until then, states could legally deny the right to vote based on your gender. (Until then, women had the right to vote in only 15 states out of 48. Most of those states were west of the Rockies.)

The 15th Amendment (1870) prohibited state restrictions on voting based on "race, color, or previous condition of servitude." Until then, states could legally deny the right to vote based on your race.

The 13th Amendment (1865) abolished slavery. Until then, states could legally determine whether you could be bought or sold.

Medicare/Medicaid/Health Care Reform can differ state by state. Landlord/Tenant rights vary by state.

That's just the big stuff. Imagine how many smaller rights we take for granted can differ state by state.

Morning all!

I gotta say, I learn so much here, it's marvellous! I know I can google and find stuff out but hearing about things from peeps who actually experience it is so much better. So thank you, my friends, it's a joy being educated by you all :)

Yay! I have a temporarily tired kitty!

We just played a game of "catch the kibble." Where, I through a piece of kibble to her, and since it usually bounces, she has to chase it down to eat it.

I'm evil. Yes, I am. But it's good experience for her catching bugs, right?

Of course, she thinks it's a treat and not her kibble since I fill the empty treat container with her cat food. Then when I shake it, she comes running. Which I had to do this morning because she bolted out the door and was almost to the end of the hall before I even had a chance to turn around.

That is perhaps the nicest, bestest thing about this forum...the friendly two-way between vastly time and place separated people and the way we all call this place 'home'. Differences are accepted; all nationalities are accepted; creeds, colours and software are accepted, and the only thing (besides the TOS) unaccepted is being mean to someone. No 'Mean Girls' here (but Bad Girls, they rock the house :p
