Hello all!
It's true, I haven't been around for a while because I've been working at Rooster Teeth. I was (a) Technical Director and Rigger on RWBY season 3 (that just ended). I'm still working there as a Maya Rigger/R&D on RvB and some other projects. I can only talk very generally about what I'm working on and sorry no spoilers!
I've remained active as much as I can, providing support for my current products and continuing to have a close relationship with Smith-Micro and beta test for Poser (all the way into the latest version and been doing that since Poser 6, SR-3). I still love and enjoy Poser. However, RWBY was a lot of work, deep into full-time. I've probably rigged more figures for the show than I can count (all of the new characters in the last season and polished up older ones) and that includes implementing bullet physics effects and so on. I'm still very busy, bridging my skills to the Maya platform and it continues to be an interesting and fun experience. I work with a great crew of folks who are really bright and talented.
But, to the state of things. I only found out about the scenario a few hours ago and I haven't made any concrete decisions quite yet on where my products will be going. I don't think that I am truly leaning towards moving them to DAZ3D as I don't feel that they are a fit for the types of products that they are, being specifical tailored to working natively in Poser. I think they need a venue that is at least a bit more "balanced", so we will see. I'll try to keep everyone posted.
I do feel it's regretable to lose RDNA as independent Poser (and DS) venue but I have to be optimistic. Things change, evolve and I like to think it all happens for a reason. I wish everyone at RDNA the very best no matter what choices they need to make, with the deepest sincerity!
I hope to stop by more often and see what everyone is up to! I had to make a computer replacement last week so I'm still spending time getting things moved over, reinstalled and all that jazz.
@Chris: Haven't chatted in a while, we should sync up
