I am SO glad you're back!

And develop it will. I started with the pants. Doing layered clothing can be a task, but I figured out a way to do it. I just hope it works.

I have the pants done. I already have them UV mapped and I am trying to match the texture of the pic I posted. I believe it is raw silk, but I have been known to be wrong from time to time. If any of you professional seamstresses would care to take a look and let me know, that would be AWESOME!

Alright. Pants and the inner shirt are done. I am doing a render right now to test the textures. As soon as it's done I'll see if I can get online on my laptop and post them.

I will need some serious critiques on this one since it will be posted here as a freebie....

Looking forward to it also. I'll be checking in now and then throughout the day as I'm off work today.

Sorry folks. Real life took over yesterday. I will be online in about 12 hours and I'll post those renders.

They look really cool.

Yeah, sometimes real life just sucks.

Quick poll, and I hope that more people will see this thread and answer this: Dynamic vs Conforming.

I prefer dynamic cloth because of it's more realistic draping and movement for animation. I also like that 99% of poke-through issues don't occur with a dynamic cloth.

A lot of people shy away from dynamic cloth because the cloth room intimidates them, or they claim that it slows down the workflow waiting for the simulation to finish.

I prefer to model dynamic cloth over rigging a model to conform. It takes much more work to get a rigged clothing article right. And never mind having to deal with morphs.

On 'rosity I would upload a dynamic cloth outfit and get a dozen or so downloads. Conformers that I would put up would get a few hundred.

So the question is ( I know, long winded, ain't I?) if I upload this outfit here as a dynamic cloth outfit, would people download it, or does everyone prefer it rigged? Once I can post the renders, I'll show you why I think this outfit works better dynamic.

I have to admit... I can see where dynamics would be vastly preferred for this item, and where it would benefit greatly from it.

But that said... primarily because I am a DS user... I probably would not download it if it's dynamic, because of the multitude of extra steps, OBJ exporting my posed Dawn along with anything else the cloth might collide with in a scene, then doing the import to Poser just to run the cloth sim, then another obj export back out again... and if I end up having to change Dawn's pose later on in the scene, which I do a lot, I have to do the process all over again...

I love the look of dynamics, but they are just too much time, too many workarounds and too much fiddling for me personally to have the patience to use. If DS could use Poser dynamics, that would be a very different story, but we are stuck with the Optitex stuff.

If you do this as a dynamic item, I think it will be gorgeous... but I personally would probably drool at it and then pass it up due to the dynamics.

But... it is your item. And I know as a DS-only user that I am probably somewhat in a minority around here. So do it in the way you want it done. I think it would be gorgeous either way, though.

Okay, so getting started on this. Here is the pants and shirt. This is the zero posed state. They really don't look like much right now. That is why I stated dynamic would be better. In reading what you said, I thought of a way to get the draping and folds into the clothes to work as a rigged conformer (Poser only, so I don't know how that would affect a DS only user). I could run a cloth sim on the zeroed figure and hope the cloth would drape properly.
