The Anchorage, Part 3

Gosh, my evening got derailed big time but in a good way. I had just unlocked the dinghy padlock about 5.30 to come home when I got a text from a friend asking if I'd like to go there for toasted sandwiches. Well, I can't turn down an invitation like that so here I am, 6 hours later, sandwiched, socialed and home. Also had a swim when I got back which was lovely. Sometimes the best fun is unplanned :)

We're back from the vet's!

Everything looks good. She is definitely teething. But it's her canines that are coming in. Which don't usually come in till they are 6 months old. So funny because she has both the baby canines and the adult canines. She looks like a vicious vampire.

She was so cute too. I opened the carrier door and she ran over to the vet (this was Tsuki's first time at my vet's) and started sniffing her face. Vet commented on how shy she is. Yep. That's Tsuki. Can't find another kitten as shy as she is

She is definitely not a shy kitty.

But she absolutely hates being in the carrier / in the car. She was ok in the carrier until we'd been in the car about 5-10 minutes or so and then she started with the pitiful squeaking. Once at the vet, she was ok in the carrier. When we left the vet, she started the pitiful squeaking again, and when I stopped for gas, she began to get rather frantic wanting out of the carrier. But once we pulled into the parking garage, she was calm and patiently waited till we got upstairs and I opened the carrier.

I wonder if she's afraid she'll get taken away from her home again. We had a dog that was terrified the first few times we put him in the car to go on a hike. It took him a while to realize that now car rides meant going somewhere fun instead of being abandoned.

Afternoon all! A gorgeous day here in Opua with a lovely cooling sea breeze just started.

Today is housework day, fetch more water day and wait for the tide to change at 7.30 day. It's also going to be make date scones day, nom, nom!

Isn't housework just so much FUN, Terre?! Not! I've decided I need more fortifying before I start and I'm now on my second bucket of coffee :) I'll know it's got out of hand and that I'm actually just procrastinating when/if I get to a third bucket ;)

Afternoon everyone :)

The clouds are building early today and I would guess I'll be hearing thunder soon. Yesterday's rain was pretty mild here but inland where my son is there was torrential downpours and the spouting couldn't cope.

Last night was hot, humid and mosquitoed. I can barely cope with the first two but the mossies?! they drove me nuts. Finally had to bring out the big guns and give them a squirt. Note to self: you can no longer sit with the doors open after dark. Sigh.

Afternoon/Evening Lorraine. Weather's not too bad here, but Weather.com keeps saying there's a storm brewing and we could get another blizzard. I'm hoping they're wrong.

Hi Lorraine. :) Mosquitoes are horribly annoying! And they are so small that they squeeze in through all kinds of little places.

Miss B, we have been having very high winds here the last day or two... for us that usually means some kind of a storm is on it's way. We did get a very thin sprinkling of flurries this morning and yesterday evening, but so far that's all we've gotten. I'm a ways further inland than you, though...

Seliah, I truly believe there is no earthly reason for those nasty little suckers to exist. And now with Zika virus as well! Our health dept is not sure if our mossies can spread it...I surely hope not as we already have people in NZ with it having been to Tonga and Samoa. Fingers crossed!

Gosh, Miss B, I do hope they are wrong!

I hope you come through the weather with no problems Miss B.
It looks like it will be just east of us. They do project 41 mph winds for Monday but a high of 58F and only a 10% chance of precipitation. The following days are expected to be colder but not stormy.

Yeah, I'm on the coast, but if the storm Terre's talking about is the same one, then it might, hopefully, die out before it comes this far East. I guess we'll have to wait and see. A few flurries I can deal with.
