You can find HiveWire 3D and Lisa's Botanicals products, as well as many of our Contributing Artists, at Renderosity. This thread lists where many are now selling their products. Renderosity is generously putting products which were purchased at HiveWire 3D and are now sold at their store into customer accounts by gifting them. WIP WIP Asian-African Elephant project

It's dead. Unless they get a new rigger, and cathy gets well, the rest of the Hivewire project are going nowhere. It's sad. My favorite stuff. Lisa was the whip cracker, with her gone, there is no will. Very sad.

Now, I would totally love to be wrong and will just in and support things if they re-blossom And considering how downhill Daz and Rendo have gone, there is certainly a niche for Hivewire to return.

Sadly the truth ... I will be back for sure !

Given how the last actual meaningful update is from 2022... I really wouldn't hold my breath for anything soon, if ever.

you know if Chris would have been up front with us and told us that these WIP projects were suspended indefinitely I would not be so pissed off about waiting for so long.

Is there any possibility that these things could be more of a community effort?

There are at least a few technical and artistic people (remaining) who are capable of doing these things. Maybe they don't have the inspiration of the original idea. Or the perfectionist eye for the finish. But they are fantastic crafts people.

Could we get some of this stuff into shared repos where we could branch and fork and play and things would not stall so completely.

A lot of progress could be made by having people mess with the unfinished stuff. Maybe even unexpectedly cool things would happen. Could have it under a Creative Commons licence with terms that keep the IP under the control of the original creative. But still permits people to tinker and even contribute.

This is where Blender crushes it: organisation.

Just thinking out loud.

But, to me, it could be more fun playing with Cath's half-finished musing than with many commercial products. And, that play may lead to progress or data that helps when Cath has exhausted the joy of fort-building with shipping boxes, fires up the espresso machine and gets back to mouse driving. And who doesn't want to mess with Chris's meshes? (That sounds weird if you say it out loud )

Yea, I had a WIP for a Dusk revamp using Dawn 2 but that went by the way side.
1) Cath has created one that looks miles better than my efforts and
2) after my health crisis in January I had to pair back all my projects to only working when I had the energy -------
I'm still not 100%. Sepsis is very deadly. The only good thing about it was I lost that stubborn 30 lbs I was wanting to get rid of. LOL

It seems Chris is not involved right now with any of this stuff as I've been wowing over his incredible paintings he's been posting on Fb. I'm sure Paul has moved on again too. HiveWire had it's day and while hope is not gone from my minds eye it's more of a glimmer these days.

Frankly, there is no new generation of Poser artists. At all. In my fifties I am one of the younger ones and I don't create content because there are no good ways to learn it. There was no interest or effort to attract younger artists to use and create, and you see the results of that now bear fruit.

Also, so sorry to hear about you health problems, Rich and I hope it gets better steadily!!

Nobody will create new content that don't even sells , waste of money and time , young generation is not interested in outdated software that they have to pay for to use it . There are plenty of other free one that offer more for less.
If not the old generation of couple of people still around , the community would be already dead. Next month is 30 years since I am around and I truly hope Poser14 bring the needed updates or it will be truly the end. Fingers crossed

Sadly I spent couple of months in bed , go through chemo but doing better now but the last thing I want to do is waste my precious time arguing with people on Internet , that's not my reality anymore.
I will not be back into 3D until January, hopefully. Love ❤️ Peace & Light

Thanks so much Rhia. I appreciate your kind words of healing. Health stuff hits us later in life and well age and the illness itself don't exactly work well, in fact it's all you can do to keep it together on those bad days. I really sweet friend of mine, a bit younger than me, just had a stroke. I mean a fooking stroke. He's doing OK but they had to open up the back of his head to fix whatever they had to fix and now has allot of pain healing. He's posted some update video's and his voice sounds fine but his typing is a bit wonky as the brain to fingers are a bit off.

I didn't know you were dealing with cancer Cath. I hope they get all that cleared out of your system. There is a supplement I began taking to stave off cancer, it's called Fenaxa but you only take it 3 times a week and you must take it with something oily so it absorbs! So I take it with a tablespoon of salted butter (I LOVE salted butter so it's no big deal for me). I checked in with CoPilot about the efficacy of Fenaxa and it told me it has really good studies that proves it works. So from Wednesday - Friday are my days ON. It's become second nature for me.
