The Anchorage, Part 3

They're at Spirits Bay, almost round the top, only North Cape to go and they'll be on their way south...so exciting!!!!

And it looks like a dawn welcome party which I am going to stay up all night for...no way I can get up after only two or three hours sleep ;)

Still two to three hours away plus Opua has a peasouper fog, just what they didn't need. However, I'm still on standby and drinking coffee to ensure I don't fall asleep!

Not many photos as still dark when they arrived. But arrived safely, beer and chocolate for celebration, helping with unloading, departure of delivery crew, home in bed ready for a sleep. Will put some photos on after I've had a nap :)

My nap got a bit extended but I still feel like a person who got no sleep and drank way too much coffee o_O

There's a boat looming in the dark. Things got very busy, very quickly. It was akin to parking a football field ;)

The sun kinda came up, hidden by the cloud. We drank coffee and ate chocolate and put the dogs ashore for a well deserved run around. The black one, Shady, went missing in the dark but returned unscathed and spent the next few hours trying to do it again.

Me trying to keep two dogs from making a getaway. As Rose said "Cuckoo is a colourful note in a grey Opua day"

Two people, 16 years, one wedding, four children, two dogs, one cat, one catamaran. Well done.

The Wicked Witch of the North
Hello, my friends :) After a 14! hour sleep I awoke bright eyed, bushy tailed and COLD! Brrr. It was too warm last night when I went to bed to put the quilt on but my gosh, was it needed this morning. I considered just staying in bed once I got warm but got up and lit the fire instead. I'm now wrapped in blankies, sipping coffee, and waiting for the wheelhoose to warm up. After all the excitement of yesterday I could do with a very quiet day aboard but no! more socialising on the agenda after doing the weekly shop this arvo. Fortunately for my hermit side, it's going to rain and blow from tomorrow for the next few days and no one will expect to see me :sneaky:

I'm so glad they made it into port safe and sound! She looks like a lovely ship, and I'm sure she'll serve them well for many years. That is such a neat lifestyle for the folks who can do it. :)

And the bay is gorgeous! Even with the cloudy day.
