Do the eyes have it?

Working on building my own textures for the eyes, and I came upon a couple of things that I have questions on! (no, really? questions? you? *shh* voices in my head, sorry.)

First one, is there a way to make the pupil larger or smaller?

Second one, why is there two sets of eyeballs on the Template? Is one for foal and one for Horse? I can't seem to see how they are used, see question one. I even tried flipping the texture when I was done and it doesn't seem to do anything. And I did try it on both the foal and the horse and it didn't seem to make a difference.

Third, um...I forgot. Oh, yeah, is there a way to make the 'iris' smaller or larger? Horses have different size eyes.

Thanks! Have a great weekend if you are in the States.

Awesome! That will be a great resource to have! I was just wondering, on the Genesis Models, and M4/V4, I think, you can make both the eyeball surface (iris) larger, and make the pupil larger or smaller to a degree (love, surprise, darkness, light). Was just wondering if there was such a thing for Harry, since it was so detailed in everything else!

I just checked under Actor/Head/Eyes there is an eye size but no pupil size.
In regards to why there are two sets of eyeballs. The top two appear to be on the cornea and the bottom 2 are on the Iris. I worked this out by numbering them and then applying the map to all 4 sections of the eye.

The make "eye bigger", makes the whole eye bigger, like an anime eye. (Which for a horse, works well, since you don't often see the "whites of the eyes". But for the Big Cat and the Dragon, I hope there is a pupil change option!

I was seeing that on the seam template that Rae recommended, So, I'll have to play around and see what happens.

I think, like it was suggested in the other forum, that loading multiple copies and making part invisible might be a good option.

I am not sure about the horse, but in Dawn and Dusk, the 2 sets of eyes on the template are:

* Top: Eye surface, typically used for eye reflections.
* Lower: for the eye structure itself (sclera, iris, pupil).

In theory, you can make the pupil size anything you like in the texture, though if the size doesn't match the template, there might be issues with the morphs. But if the eyes don't have a pupil size control, you can set it to the size you want straight on the textures.

I'm back from vacation (although a trip from almost Utah to Ohio and Utah, via Oklahoma and back in one week, is not much of a vacation!) And hope to get cracking on this and the fantasy Harry mane/tail/fetlocks and skins, soon!
