Clothing makers - JCM or Weightmap ?

So I'm setting up a new figure and I'm at the joint fixing stage of things. I could do JCM which will work in Poser and DS or I can make Poser weightmaps and then DS weightmaps. Both will do the same function to fix the little issues with some bends on the figure. Making two sets of wm will mean a bit of duplicated effort for me, but might be easier on clothing makers in the long run.

The question is really what to clothing makers think about it? Would you rather have to make and code JCM on every clothing item, or deal with transferring and converting weightmaps ?

Figure is a bipedal humanoid (and no you don't get pictures yet sorry :) )

Personally I have nothing against JCMs, however, I find the nice thing about weight mapping is that I can better reverse engineer it if I have to. Since it's easy to see the weight maps on the figure, I can easier see how the figure was put together (so to speak). JCMs are harder for me to visualize in the same way.

I don't have anything against them, either, but they have been so overused on past figures (DAZ Generation4) they have a very bad reputation. A lot of modelers will shy away from a figure that uses JCMs because they don't want to rig them.

Either or. I hate weight mapping myself, it's so tedious but folks expect it. One of the reasons I've begged off making clothing. Too aggravating for me! lol JCM's work most of the time. I find around the crotch or the underarms/breasts can be a bit fiddly but weight mapping in those areas just drive me crazy!
