Art Thieves!

I had someone post a petition to get this site taken down as it is well know for steeling art from Deviant Art.
I thought I saw an image done by CWRW so searched for that, quite a few product shots from Hivewire showed up so searched for that - HEAPS of stuff turned up!

I'd advise everyone to go on there to put in a complaint about stolen art.

Here is a link to the petition: Department of Justice: Shut down Payposter.com!

THANKS SO MUCH!! Odd but interesting that the SECOND I sent a "report" and also a nasty one to their contact, that my image is no longer there.... it does say they MAY remove it, but maybe it's so COMMON there, they set up an automatic deal for any image reported ? sheesh!

It seems to still be in the search but when you click on it it says image not available. It might "put it on hold" until they look into it.

Well done Pen for bringing this to our attention. Having been a victim of art theft in the past I can only prey that these criminals recieve the prosecution they richly deserve. I urge every member of the Hivewire community to click on the link and make your voices heard! :applause:

Hey Myth, all us Aussies do not look alike :p hahahaha

One of the HW images was actually stolen from Zazzle so a heads up there too if you have anything for sale at Zazzle you should take a look as well.

Actually I just searched on their site for HiveWire, and found a number of uploads from here on the forum, some of which just screenshots from the Poser material room. That's not "art" folks!!

How did you search for your own. I didn't find anything when I searched for a particular render name, but I'm not sure of any general searches to try, other than HiveWire.

I searched "HiveWire" which got different results to "Hive Wire".
I searched for Rae134 and found nothing, searched just for Rae and Hauck, found nothing but searched for "Rae Hauck" and found one of my Zazzle images so I guess its hit an miss (depending on where they stole the work from).

i typed hivewire first thn tried fairyfantastic lika rae said hit n miss on wat u type if u look at the image it says user eg 49 puts a description thn user 51 puts wat page number on hive its come of ill post a image of one of mine to show u

Hmmm I read the TERMS on the Petition page... by signing you have to agree to get mail, etc... sorry I'd need to create a 'junk e mail' just for this (I did use one e mail I had on hand for reporting my stolen on, on that poster site...and I'm going to delete that e mail account NOW, since McG's warning about that site!!) and yes, I know the petition won't send a virus, but I just feel better with specialized e mail accounts... and with my grief, and lack of sleep right now...I just can't... I do appreciate other's helping tho... looks like it only needs about 500 more signatures...

if that site is 'scooping up images' and not even knowing what they are, it's VERY automated (see what happened ot mine the SECOND I reported it) so unfortunately, bet they just set up a new site to sell if/when this one is removed. :(

I always have a "junk" email for stuff like this. I keep my official one for friends and family and business I know I can trust (like paypal and here) :)

Thanks for the heads up I will def take a look!

Yes, Lyne that sounds like a good idea with the junk email account.

Hmm......... could be a fishing bot of some sort, but clearly what is shown really is not what I would consider art mostly random and unsigned. More click and render.

Did you happen to post about it on Facebook?

Thank you to NPA to have shared the link on Fantasy Attic. Promo renders from the market there was stolen too. So it's not just on Deviantart.
Some pictures (promo renders) from Yurdigital too.
And one of mine I have posted only on Project Dogwaffle site and in the gallery of Fantasy Attic.

It's also pictures from tutorials which are taken. So ridiulous!

Looking on the site (I have adblocker, and my programs don't find virus), I see a Pommerlis promo render for "Red Carpet for Dynamics 06 for Dawn".

In the day, I will share the news on Twitter, and share also on DA. Just time to find words to stay polite :devil"

There seems to be a lot of concern that this site may be some kind of phishing scam, and my own experience is that Malwarebytes flatly refuses to open the site. Further, though the source, Justin17, may be unreliable there are some indications that this site has hosted child pornography among it's other activities and, for that alone taking it down becomes a matter of urgency, regardless of art theft!
