The Karner Blue Butterfly is found in some Great Lakes states, small areas of New Jersey, the Capital District region of New York, and southern New Hampshire (where it is the official state butterfly).

The Yellow Tree Lupine provides excellent habitat for birds and butterflies near the California coast.

The Mardon Skipper's habitat extends from the northwestern coast of Washington, through southern Oregon and northern California. It is migratory in behavior, and will fly long distances to seek new breeding areas.

The El Segundo Blue now exists in a handful of populations restricted to coastal dunes in the vicinity of Los Angeles.

The Ash-throated Flycatcher is primarily an insectivore that flies from perch to perch catching prey from the ground or from foliage in the undergrowth, less often from branches and trunks, hardly ever in midair.

Its range is the western United States, throughout all of Mexico and northwestern Central America.

Bright Spot In the Forest


In the winter, the White-throated Sparrow's diet consists primarily of small seeds, fruits & insects when they are available. During the summer months, it primarily feeds on insects, supplemented with greens and fruit. The young are fed insects. Then in late summer and fall their diet reverts mainly to fruits and seeds.

Satin Grandeur

The adult male Great-tailed Grackle is iridescent black with a purplish-blue sheen on the head, back, and under-parts; yellow eyes; and a long, graduated, keel-shaped tail. The adult female is much smaller and dusky brown, with darker wings and tail, with iridescence confined to the brown upper-parts.

Its diet during the breeding season, comprises mainly animal material, including insects, other invertebrates, and some plant material. During the non-breeding season its diet includes mainly plant material.

Splendor In the Blossoms

The Common Yellowthroat mostly gleans its food while perched. Its diet consists of bugs, flies, beetles, ants, termites, bees, wasps, grasshoppers, dragonflies, damselflies, moths, butterflies, caterpillars, and other larvae.

The males have a sharp black face mask.

The European Green Crab is listed among the World's Worst Invasive Alien Species. Its color varies greatly, from green to brown, gray, or red. This variation has a genetic component, but is largely due to local environmental factors.

The Grey Gull breeds in the extremely dry Atacama Desert of inland Chile. The rest of the year it is present along much of the Pacific coast of South America.

Tip: If you need a smaller (juvenile) crab they are easy to create by changing the figures scale.
