BACKGROUND:
This was the first of a series of "Dark Caricatures" I did of friends and acquaintances. I would try to capture the essence of the persons image and personality in monstrous portrait. I used to be in demand for these, but it was a passing fad. I still do them occasionally for close friends, when i feel inspired.

This image was created entirely with a Number two, hard lead pencil. The image was created on a medium tooth drawing surface, found in a leatherbound, Tara sketchbook (as are most of my works). The original image is 8.5 x 11 inches.
