Yay Lorraine, good news for you and for your auntie!

We have dental sections in some of our clinics that bulk bill medicare...which essentially means you show your card and don't have to pay but there tends to be long waits for appointments and they give priority to people with Health Care Cards.

I have private health so I go privately which only covers you for a portion of the cost but the Insurance Companies often fully cover having your teeth cleaned the one I'm currently with covers you for 1/year. They seem to be more into prevention these days.

After-morning, Satira Yes,it's become my mantra, one more sleep, one more sleep, as I'm sorting and packing, and talking and interacting, one more sleep. Been a long month.

 

[Terre]

Yay to one more sleep and a fun evening.

 

[Lorraine]

A similar thing happens here with our Community Services card, Pen. You get access to some cheaper healthcare but wait longer. This doesn't include acute situations, everyone gets immediate care then. If the doc thinks there's something really bad going on, you go to the top of the list and get fast tracked. For everything else, you wait. And everyone regardless of financial situation is entitled to free hospital care, but dental, hearing and eyesight aren't covered. Except for dental clinics in some hospitals for card holders.

A glorious day in Auckland made even better for my being on my homeward bound bus. Bye bye big city, hello Northland!

Thank you my friends Will be safe but slow. The traffic is at a crawl from Albany to Wellsford (62ks) and we don't know why Auckland is trying to move holus bolus to Northland

Still at least another two hours to Opua but when we go over the top of the hill and Bream Bay stretches out before us with Bream Head rearing over the entrance to Whangarei Harbour, I know I'm home

 

[Miss B]

Some lovely scenery Lorraine. You're getting some pretty nice photos from a moving bus, but then again, you did say you're moving slow.

Nice Lorraine...how hot is it? And is the bus airconditioned?

 

[Lorraine]

The bus is getting along at quite a clip now, Miss B, now we've passed the bottleneck. Should be home at 6pm, about 3/4hr late.

The bus is air conditioned, Pen but it's having a real job with today's weather. It is HOT! Be nice if it's like this for the move home tomorrow

Glad they're able to move more quickly now Lorraine. That's what I was thinking if it was a hot day a long trip even with air conditioning can be brutal. Hope you have lots of water to drink!

The bus going slow in the bottleneck didn't help the air conditioning either. I always found stop and go traffic really played havoc with my car's a/c during the summer months. Running at a normal speed makes everything run smoother.

Been a very good girl and actually brought water with me, Pen, I'd have been stuffed without it.

That's interesting, Miss B, I didn't know stopping and starting affected the aircon like that.

Good to hear that Lorraine...you can become dehydrated on hot days in cars really quickly.
