That fur looks incredible. LAMH always looks great; the Poser hair room should have been scrapped and redone ages ago. :( I recall once upon a time there were plans to make LAMH for Poser, but given that years have passed I'm guessing that's not going to happen... :(

Egyptian maus are gorgeous. They are indeed the only truly spotted domestic cat, "truly spotted" meaning that the spots are not just part of the fur but also the skin. My cat Varda is part mau.

LAMH hair looks great when it actually works. I haven't tried to use it for the last couple of versions of the program. Worked fine in 4.0 (I think), but I think it was either 4.5 or 4.6 which broke it pretty much completely. Nothing ever rendered but the guard hairs. None of the fill hairs.

@VortigensBane I have 1 x 980ti, i7, 32GB Ram.....errmmm...other computer-y stuff. It's good, but it's not amazing! (Waaayyyyyy better than my ancient laptop, but I made a lot of characters on that). I got the 980ti when it was new-ish but it's already outdated, I'm sure :p

I need to redo the fur because I split it up into Head, Ears, Torso, Legs and Tail and I didn't need to do that. I didn't know I could select guide hairs once grown and only modify those. For my purposes, split up is fine, but it looks a little more consistent if the same amount of fur is applied to the whole animal. Extra groups could still be used for extra tail fluff or ear fluff.

LAMH was a learning curve for a few days, for sure and it can look awful very easily. I'm a bit busy with RL stuff today and tomorrow, but I'll take breaks and remake it and provide some tips on how best to use it.

It'll be useable in 3DL and Iray. I know nothing about Poser. I opened it once. :p

@Deecey Your kitty looks very snuggly and cute. I can't have cats so I'm sad that I can't have and hug all the cats. (I have cat-hating Malamutes and birds for cats to eat :p) (Edit: I watched the video. They seem like an awesome cat!)

Saiyaness, your Furry kitty image that I posted this morning on HiveWire Facebook page is a big hit. You might think of checking it out and adding your thoughts to it.

Just for fun? WIP LAMH fur for the Hivewire Housecat, rendered in Iray. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. The fur thickness is 80-30 here, but 50-10 looks good for close-ups. The combined fur amount was less than 1500,000 fibers :p Ouch. (Edit: Kitty is floating in this render. Whoops! :p)

I'd LOVE to do some textures (I'd love to do a Bengal) but finding decent references is not going well and getting me down! I thought maybe polypainted would be okay, but it just doesn't look good enough without actual fur.

LOL Rae- well honestly yes a fuzzy winter horse coat preset would be cool (and it would be interesting to see a good mane and tail LAMH preset- haven't seen one yet that looks good/realistic, but I'm sure open to it:) but I much prefer to see our felines get some LAMH action before Harry.

@CWRW For sure! I'm working on the new preset and I'll kick out a long-haired too. I guess a kitten preset too? We need a kitten puffball.

I actually tried to attach the preset to the Big Cat but it didn't work. I thought if they were the same UV's, it would work. So not sure about that one. :)

For those who are making furry products as well, keep doing it! I'm just providing some quick presets. Can't have too many furry presets! :)

I'd really love to see a long haired version, especially with Chris's squished face (er, not Chris's exactly but the morph he did for house cat :p)
