It's 7:52 Pm on the Best Coast of the USA. I just finished watching Inspector Gently, reading up on deleting my preferences files for Poser because I'm scared to do so, had ramen and Beef Bowl for dinner and I'm very pleased that you checked in.

Rae, How are you?

The Best Coast???? I'll have to disagree with you on that point, and it's 11:12pm HERE on the Best Coast, unless you're a Spectrum customer. ;)

I think I'd stick with meatloaf. Not sure I'd like ramen beef bowls.

Probably one of the most famous novels in the English language Rae! Written by Jerome K. Jerome in 1889 and tells of the adventures (and misadventures) of three men (plus a dog called Montmorency) on a two week sailing holiday along the Thames. I've been catching up on some classics after catching up with some more modern favourite authors with Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons, written in 1932 and which I can highly recommend. It is a satire of the Gothic bodice-rippers of Austin and the Brontes about a very modern young girl who arrives at the farm in question, a grim, desolate edifice on the wild moors complete with mad grannie in the attic and proceeds to impose 'modernity' upon said edifice and the family. Very sharp and insightful with a wicked sense of humour! I've a couple of others to read from more recent times by Tom Sharpe and Spike Milligan (Puckoon which should be an essential part of everyones library!).

P.S. It's raining over here, can you tell? :D

Yeah. Trump has bragged a number of times how he pays absolutely no taxes, which makes him smarter than the rest of us.

No wonder we have such a deficit.

Good activity for a rainy day. :)

I've been doing a lot of reading lately. Only because it's so hot I fear going outside I'll catch on fire.
Recently I read a book called 'The Glittering World' by Robert Levy. It's a fairy story and quite different. I enjoy fantasies and stories about the supernatural but generally don't get drawn in like one would with Mystery stories. But reading Glittering World I found myself believing every bit of it. A really good book. Check it out.

Well, meatloaf didn't go ahead as planned (I think the mince was off or just about to go, so didn't want to take a chance) so did chicken thighs I coated in a brown sugar bourbon bbq marinade with roasted veggies (potato, sweet potato, carrots, red onion). OMG it was sooooo good (even if I do say so myself, hubby agreed).
Might not sound like much but I don't cook so it was a surprise (I think I've done about 20 dinners in the approx 20 years hubby and I've been together). :p

WOWIE! That's two things I have in common with Mister Trump. I don't pay tax and I know absolutely zilch about being president of the USA. Oh,Gawd! I hope this doesn't mean I'm turning into a darn Liberal!

Nothing wrong with being a Liberal! Some of my bestest friends are Liberals. As a matter of fact, I live with a Liberal ... and drive to work with a Liberal, and even ... gasp ... sleep with a Liberal. She's even been accused of being a Bleeding Heart Liberal. With good reason since she most certainly is a Bleeding Heart Liberal.

Mind you, it's just Tsuki and me here. And she's never expressed any kind of interest in politics that I can tell. But, I'm not the best at speaking cat.

:peace:

I have a stuffed bear who's autistic. He's never spoken a word. But he seems to understand everything that's going on.
I think he would be a good president. His name's Jerome. He has a friend who's a little ass. His name is Ron. Ron could be vice president.

oooh politics....I liked Canada's latest stance in regards to Trump...I hope Australia follows suit but I'm not truly hopeful that they will.

Politic's at the Hive Pen? Never! Just a disparate but like-minded group of people engaging in friendly badanage without rancour. Personally, as someone who holds no affiliation with a political dogma of any shade, I feel proud of being able to treat anyone who enters politics with equal distrust as being totally without any talent other than that of self-aggrandisement and personal fortune.

THINKS: Cor! Writing that lot didn't half make my teeth ache! END OF THINKS!
