My Brother in law passed away...

...last night. My sister got married when I was a kid of about five. I remember the wedding. It's one of my earliest memories, and they had just celebrated their 50th wedding celebration a few years ago. I didn't like my sister for some reason growing up. I avoided her whenever she came up from Florida to visit. And My Brother in law, George, and I were not that close. Although, to be honest, I liked him better than my sister. He was always a kind of laid back and take it easy kind of guy. My sister and I finally repaired our relationship, so I'm very saddened at his death and him leaving my sister alone. And despite my not being that close to him, I'm going to miss him terribly. He was always there.

Condolences from me as well Earl. It's always sad when we lose a family member, even if we weren't that close to them.

Really sorry to read of your loss, I hope in time that everyone will be able to look back with some happiness that they made it to their 50th wedding anniversary. That is some milestone and getting a rare occurrence in the modern day. MY thoughts are with you and all those close.

Thank you all. It was rather sudden. Though, she has been in and out of the hospital a lot over the past year or so. But this was sudden, and quick. At least they made her comfortable, she wasn't in pain.

It is always good to know she did not suffer. Many moons ago my grandfather died from lung cancer, he suffered and lot and it was long and drawn out and I remember my first reaction when I heard that he had finally died was I was pleased the pain was at an end. Thankfully these days they can control pain a lot better but it is still good if there is no suffering at all.
