The only niggle I have with 4.9 is DO NOT UNDOCK your toolbars, they won't redock. It's a known bug and I'm not sure if it's the particular theme I'm using or what. Never had this issue but it's quite annoying. Other than that DS 4.9 branch has been quite stable for me.

I haven't installed the most recent version which comes with the Genesis 8 figure. Just haven't had the time...

Rather a lot of the stuff which has been released this year demands at least 4.9, so you are probably ahead of the game.

I think there were some changes to the default Iray settings in the most recent versions. Can't say from experience, since I've yet to attempt to do anything in Iray.
