You can find HiveWire 3D and Lisa's Botanicals products, as well as many of our Contributing Artists, at Renderosity. This thread lists where many are now selling their products. Renderosity is generously putting products which were purchased at HiveWire 3D and are now sold at their store into customer accounts by gifting them. This is not an overnight process so please be patient, if you have already emailed them about this. Can someone help me with this?

They say there are no stupid questions. Let's challenge that saying. Usually when i see poses for Dusk or Dawn in the store, they have the same white featureless texture. You can see an example in the pic below. Is this a texture and if so where can I get it? And if it's not, did the vendor just remove the texture from the figure and render it?

I've seen that done at other stores as well. As to how they get it, I would hazard a guess you're right about just removing any textures, and choosing a nice diffuse color that will render well. I don't know if that's a pure white, or a very light grey, but I've seen that method used a lot for pose sets, mostly because the creator probably doesn't want to dress the character so you can get the full view of each pose, and most of the 3D stores won't show naked characters in either natural or unusual poses.

I've seen people use nice clay shaders too to get a similar effect.

What we do is remove the textures and change the diffuse color to white then render with AO lights to show the nuances of the model and how it is shaded by lights. Sometimes I will render with white diffuse with the bump and displacement in place to show how much the model is getting its detail from maps.

Ohhh, so you do use plain white. OK, those type of renders remind me a little of statuary, though not with a real stone material.

It's just a diffuse color with the bump maps still in place. I hid the eyelashes too. Here are the DS settings for iRay but you suss out what you need from them I think!

Thanks Ram and Lisa. since i'm using Poser, I'll just have to do that there.
