The Anchorage, Part 3

Terre

You know Terre, you could always move to Arizona. ;) My family in Tucson always laugh because we're still changing the clocks twice a year, which they haven't done since they moved out there about 40 or so years ago.
Now I have to remember that when I look at the clock on the stove or the clock in my car, that it's the actual time. Rather than displaying an hour ahead.

I soooo hate time change.
One hour is better than what my dad had to do for a few years. He lived in a state on the Western edge of Eastern Time and worked at a base in the next state West which was in Central time and didn't use Daylight time so he had a two hour difference to deal with.

Hi Terre! Just off to bed now so I'll catch up with you later :)

And I feel sorry for your dad. My dad hated daylight saving. Just when it got to where he could see to bring the cows in, bam! dark again in the morning. Peeved him off no end.

OUCH! Not sure I could deal with that. I'd have to change my watch twice a day. ~shakes head~

He ended moving to a small town closer to the base so the time difference wouldn't be a problem. I don't know what he did with his watch. I think he just set everything for where he was living and adjusted mentally for work.

Thanks Seliah, Lorraine, and Pen!

Seliah and Pen, soon for you two, yes?

Hopefully. Nataani is still in QA. Had an issue with one leg seam which snowballed into a bunch of other issues on my end that I decided needed to be handled before sending the update back to QA. So I've got my lovely beta tester checking the update over first, and then I'll send those files back up to QA.

Not sure when he'll pass through QA. He'll get there when he gets there. :)

I'm real! I'm real!

I hit the store with a BANG today!

Go get 'em, Satira. :) Congratulations, that's a nice portfolio! Very happy for you.

Good morning/afternoon, everyone. :) I hope you all are well and have a wonderful day.

I do not like this time change either. Whoever invented DST...well, he or she does not deserve a medal, IMHO. ;-)

Indeed. About the time that Nouvelle Aube was finished going through QA, I discovered one of the booties was no longer working with the Amazon/SuperModel/Tall/Foot Size morphs. Soo ... last minute, I had to reimport the booties and recreate all the morphs and then edit the new files. I must have deleted too much before, so I was extra extra extra careful this time.

It was much easier adding the morphs this time around though. Although, I ended up ditching the SuperModel morph in the booties since the toes refused to work with it. But, no one uses SuperModel, right?

Thanks Jan!

Daylight Savings Time is pure evil! And of course, this week it's even darker in the morning because of cloudy weather and rain. There should be a law against beginning DST unless the weather forecast is BRIGHT AND SUNNY! It's even harder getting adjusted this year because I look outside, see it's still darkish, and think I have another hour or so before I have to get up. Even when the alarm just went off! Apparently, my brain things my eyes are more reliable than my ears.

Unfortunately, there are some rather powerful lobbyests who support Daylight Sayings Time. Like ... the Association for Convenience and Fuel Retailing who are actually pushing for it to start earlier in the year!!! Apparently, people tend to get out and drive (hence using more gas) when it stays light later. Chamber of Commerce is another lobbying for earlier Daylight Savings Time. Because ... retailers sell more gardening, home repair and sports equipment with extended evening daylight hours. Then we have the golf industry lobbyists. All of whom found that starting DST a month earlier as of 1986 has resulted in millions (billions in terms of gas sales) for those industries.

Farmers on the other hand are opposed to DST (it's even more disruptive to farmers than the rest of us). Of course, we were taught in school DST was instituted to benefit farmers. But, that's not true. It was actually proposed to save candle wax in the evening hours and instituted first during WW1 by Germany seeking cost savings ... then Britain three weeks later, and finally in 1918 by the US. We WOULD have to leap on that bandwagon

Yet one more thing we can blame on the war to end all wars!

Hey everyone! Cloudy day here in Opua but it's warm! Not hot, just nice and warm

Daylight Savings finishes here soon...it goes from the last weekend in September to the first weekend in April..over six long months.
