• Welcome to the Community Forums at HiveWire 3D! Please note that the user name you choose for our forum will be displayed to the public. Our store was closed as January 4, 2021. You can find HiveWire 3D and Lisa's Botanicals products, as well as many of our Contributing Artists, at Renderosity. This thread lists where many are now selling their products. Renderosity is generously putting products which were purchased at HiveWire 3D and are now sold at their store into customer accounts by gifting them. This is not an overnight process so please be patient, if you have already emailed them about this. If you have NOT emailed them, please see the 2nd post in this thread for instructions on what you need to do

It is time for the "Dawn of a new Era" to come to a close.

On behalf of a few of us remaining at HiveWire, we have not been looking forward to this announcement of the closing of our forums. Our forums here have been limping along and held together with duct tape, gum, and bailing twine for some time now. Many of you have supported this effort since our inception, and we greatly appreciate you for that!! Thank you for breathing your life into these forums.

It has been a wild ride over the years since we've started HiveWire, with many ups and downs. We appreciate all the color and texture you've added to the voices and threads of our forums. It has been a pleasure, and a blessing for us to have made these forums available, so that everyone can feel welcome, and perhaps even feel like family. The insights, ideas, and concerns about this 3D creative market have been enriching. Helping to provide stronger and more valuable products, because of what was shared within these many threads. Aside from the product ideas, fun conversations about favorite music, jungle birds visiting food stands, local weather in your area, or just artists sharing amazing and inspiring renders, all have held our collective attention. For me personally these forums have been a great place to highlight work in progress images, of fun products I've been able to create during that day. I've also really enjoyed seeing what people like Laurie Prindle, Ken Gilliland, Flinkhawk, and many, many others have been able to render over the years. So much talent has been on display here. Anyone spending time here has spent a valuable part of their life with us, and we are indebted to you all for that. It has meant a great deal. So, again we thank you.

The forums will remain open until the last day of this July, Friday the 31st. This will give you all time to glean whatever you can from the forums, and say your goodbyes here.

What remains of our HW products will still be available through the Renderosity store. It is our hope that positive conversations about our HW products and supporting products will take place within the forums at Renderosity.

Lastly I want to thank all those who have supported me personally with encouragement to continue to create superior 3D content. I thank Ken K., RAMWolff, Steve Corder, and many others for your support of our leading figures, and wonderful products. I thank Tana Ragsdale for forum support and product creation. A HUGE thanks to the many talents of Cath "MEC4D". Cath has angel like talent that truly lifts and inspires me. Without the insight, direction, and patience from Laurie Prindle, our HW animals would have "stunk it up". NO ONE CREATES MORE GORGEOUS HORSE CONTENT THAN LAURIE "cwrw" PRINDLE!! Because of her help, our animals are still holding strong and provide good value for those that shop our products on Rendo. I thank those at Renderosity over the years that have been a great support to our content, and contests. I thank Ken Gilliland, who has been a great, loyal, and supportive friend in many ways, and over many years, and for his vast collections of superior and ongoing products!! I thank Paul Lessard for his excitement, friendship, and for finding ways to fight thru the many challenges within the Poser, and DAZ Studio software to come up with strong products, that supported both. Paul is a magician!! I thank Alisa Proctor for her attention to the many details that needed to be addressed, and for her gentle way of guiding our attention and focus. Alisa continues to lend support of our HW products on Rendo and within the forums there, and continues to do so here until we close the forums. I thank my business partner Lisa Buckalew for her strength, creativity, and support through the BS, and challenges of running a fledgling struggling business. Lastly, I thank my wife Lorie Kim, and here there are just too many things to say about all that. But, thank you!!

Thanks, Chris - for all you have done and for keeping the forums open all these years. What a beautiful post! I think you said it all, and I add my thanks to those you posted. These forums have been special, and I know many of us will miss them.

I can be reached at Rendo as "Alisa" and I also handle, as Chris said, the HiveWire3D account over there (with help from some others :)).

I totally understand and can't say I am at all surprised but for all that I will miss the forum. I feel partly responsible as I have not posted for a long while, nothing to do with Hivewire3D more down the the fact that I discovered 3D printing which opened up a whole new world. More recently I have started to play with Dawn 2 once more but the first thing I have discovered is how much I have forgotten.

Thank all of you guys and gals, obviously a special thankyou to Chris and the rest of the Hivewire3D team but a huge shout out to every poster/ contributor, I have enjoyed the ride. I will miss the forum but I will never forget the joy it has given me just being a small part of it.

Thanks for everything, the opening of HiveWire got me into actually being a 3d vendor, it was less intimidating/ more welcoming than Daz or Rendo at the time. I haven't really created anything new for a while, but still have my store at Rendo. Wishing everyone success wherever life takes you from here.

What a well-said and moving post, Chris...

So many thanks!! First to Ken Gilliland, for telling me about HiveWire and introducing me to Chris all those years ago, when Ken and I were getting pretty frustrated at Daz...

Huge thanks to Chris for giving me the great honor of art directing HIM to create all of our wonderful HW critters! I mean who wouldn't want to work hand-in-hand with one of the best 3d modelers in the entire world???

More huge thanks to Lisa, Alisa and Paul for all they did to teach me, help me and so much more in my 3d journey. And of course many many thanks to so many folks like FlintHawk who beta-tested all those HW critters and all my add-ons too..

I will always treasure my time at HiveWire and these forums and all the wondeful and so-creative people I met over the years here! These years were such a joyous and creative time in my life that I will never forget. I wil be adding one last post to my old thread here soon for those of you who want to know what I am doing now and how to reach me.

So instead of saying "Goodbye", I am going to say, "Til we meet again!!"
