Wow, rendering is hard work!

I had an image all set up, took a long time just to do that, then went to render in Poser.
For the last three days my Poser has been grinding away for hours on that image, hanging then crashing.
Today it dawned on me what the problem might be, I checked and sure enough, I had messed up.
Simply forgot that if you use a lot of props in a scene, not all of it needs to be set for raytrace.

In addition to Dusk and Dawn in there with their clothing and hair, I had many props and forgot to set the props show they don't show in raytrace.
Once I adjusted the settings and started again the image finally rendered....Whew!

I uploaded it to my album, it is named Tea for Two, and I uploaded a few other images if you all want to have a peek.

Yup, I do that a lot.
For static images with complicated scenes I would do multiple renders and layer them together.
That's some of tricks I learned over the years

That is interesting. Certainly there is no need to raytrace wood. Hair takes too long as is with it's light emitters. Thanks for the information, Fae Fae.

Another helpful tip for people is to remember that if your prop or figure is not visible in a particular scene or too far away from the camera, you may not need certain setups, such as SSS.
