Good to see you Lyne :) You've hung in there through a rough time, and you'll get at least some of your strength back in time. You have a lot of folks here cheering you on :)

Just a jot....been home, uh....a bit over a week, LOVE my canned pureed chicken, and gut likes it too! I eat Gerber baby organic oatmeal cereal and this chicken, slowly increasing amounts, (by more meals, not more of ONE meal) and slowly 'driving' my walker around. It's slow going, but all the rehab that SHOULD have been going on in the 'best' nursing home here near the hospital, is now happening at home. I'm following up with a lung group of specialists. It is a VERY serious condition that I have to learn to manage the rest of my life.

Now I have to stop typing. Holding my head up to see the TV (my son set up my TV to be my monitor) is hard, as I was curved forward in bed for 3-4 weeks, starving, no sleep, and my 'normal' meds all messed up by the nursing home, which I now have dubbed a "Medicare Puppy Mill from hell".... I'll post when I can. THANK YOU for all your kind wishes and prayers....need them very much, this is the roughest year I've EVER lived through. (found out I could have, uh, gone, but guess I chose to stay)!

I'm glad to hear that there is some improvement, but sorry to hear that the nursing/rehabilitation home failed in their role in the healing process. I'm happy you decided to stay. The world is better for it. Stay strong, we are all wishing the best for you. :balloon01:

So good to hear from you and glad you are mending if slowly. Dealing with serious conditions over long periods can be a struggle and so demoralising so take it all in small steps and see every step forward as a major victory. Give yourself time and space to make the changes but most of all look after yourself.

Agreed on all of the above. Please keep us updated when you can and take the time you need to continue to improve.

This is just NOT my year! TWO leaks under my kitchen sink, plumbers I have to pray/trust are healthy had to come into the only area of my house I have left to live in, my fears of illness are off the chart, but all I can do is keep going.... I have to go to another follow up with a lung doctor on Tues. and "get through it" ....and then MAYBE I can be left alone to heal a while....I have GOT to push WATER drinking, but it's so hard to do.... being my head/neck is still bent over...which is now hurting from looking 'up' at screen... so must stop....

I APPRECIATE ALL YOUR WELL WISHES SO MUCH, AND AM SOAKING UP ALL YOUR GOOD THOUGHTS/PRAYERS, THANK YOU ALL!!

Sorry to hear life has yet more complications, I really hope they are sorted soon. I have never had anything on this scale, closest I ever got was being alone and in hospital while working in Australia facing and angiogram which I found scary. Mind you I never realised just how much I was scared until I got off the plane a week or so later and held my wife for the first time in weeks. It was something that I wondered if I would ever do again in my darkest moments. As I say nothing compared with what you are going through but I kinda see how scary a visit from the plumbers would be for you.

You are still in my prayers and I hope the plumbers visit sort out the water problems without adding to all you are having to suffer at the moment. Take each day at a time, you are rebuilding your life remember which is not something to be rushed.

I have both my fingers and toes crossed (which if you think makes typing difficult you would be right but not as difficult as trying to walk with crossed toes) and hopefully my prayers will be answer and you feel very much better soon.

Lyne had a follow up appointment with her lung specialist today. It was really grueling for her as they didn't have a wheelchair she could use & they sent her all over the building. She felt like she walked for miles & now her legs feel like they are jelly & she is beyond exhausted. Tomorrow she knows she will really be sore. Next on her to-do list is buying a wheelchair.

Poor thing. You'd think they'd have some wheelchairs there!

Thanks for letting us know.

Hugs to both of you!

Be sure to check craigslist. My son got one free when the hospital was giving them away. Why did he need a wheelchair? His friends got some too and they raced them. o_O But it came in real handy when my other son had serious foot surgery.
